OUTSIDE BETHANY’S HOUSE (EVENING)
Soft suspense music plays. Lynette stands at the gate, staring at the house.)
Narrator:
Lynette had waited three years for this moment.
Three years of unanswered calls.
Three years of silence.
And now… she was finally here.
Lynette (whispering):
“This ends tonight.”
(She knocks.)
THE DOOR OPENS
(Bethany opens the door with a bright smile that slowly fades.)
Bethany:
…Lynette?
(Long pause.)
Lynette:
Hi, Bethany.
Did you miss me?
Bethany (nervous laugh):
I—I thought you moved away.
Lynette:
I did.
But some things follow you home.
INSIDE THE HOUSE
(Bethany steps aside. The house looks perfect… too perfect.)
Narrator:
Something wasn’t right.
The photos.
The locked door down the hallway.
And the way Bethany wouldn’t stop pacing.
Lynette:
You redecorated.
Bethany (quickly):
People change.
Lynette:
Yeah.
Some hide better too.
THE QUESTION
(Lynette pulls out an old envelope.)
Lynette:
You remember this?
(Bethany freezes.)
Bethany:
Where did you get that?
Lynette:
Answer the question, Bethany.
Why did you lie?
Bethany (voice shaking):
I was protecting myself!
THE SHOCKING TWIST 😱
(Bethany suddenly grabs the envelope and rips it open.)
Bethany (yelling):
You think you’re the only one with secrets?!
(She throws a key onto the table.)
Bethany:
Open the door.
Go on.
Since you came all this way.
(Lynette walks to the locked door and opens it.)
THE REVEAL
(Inside: evidence, documents, recordings.)
Narrator:
Lynette expected regret.
She expected apologies.
What she didn’t expect…
Was proof.
Lynette (shocked):
You… you kept everything?
Bethany (cold smile):
I knew you’d come back.
I was ready.
FINAL LINE
Lynette (turning slowly):
Then you already know…
This isn’t over.
(Lights cut. Music stops.)
