Anthony Finds Out the Deadly Secret Behind Kai’s $15,000 Birthday Party 😱
Kai’s 18th birthday party was the talk of the town.
A private rooftop venue in downtown L.A., a guest list that included influencers, a surprise performance by a trending rapper, a chocolate fountain taller than Anthony, and a custom-made cake with literal fireworks shooting out of it — the whole thing screamed over the top.
But Anthony, Kai’s childhood best friend, couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. Kai’s family wasn’t rich. In fact, they’d been struggling financially ever since Kai's dad left last year. So how did he suddenly afford a $15,000 party?
The morning after the party, Anthony was scrolling through Instagram, replaying stories from the night. That’s when he noticed something weird in the background of one of the videos: Kai, arguing with someone in a dark corner of the rooftop. The man looked older. Not a party guest.
Curious, Anthony zoomed in and took a screenshot. The guy was wearing a dark green hoodie with a snake emblem — the same logo Anthony had seen a few weeks ago on a flyer around school. It was for some underground poker ring that had been recruiting high schoolers.
Anthony started connecting the dots.
Later that day, Anthony confronted Kai.
"Where’d the money come from?" he asked, trying to keep his tone casual.
Kai froze. His eyes darted, avoiding eye contact. "Just… saved up. You know. Got help from my uncle."
But Anthony knew Kai didn’t have an uncle in the U.S.
"Don't lie to me," Anthony said, showing him the screenshot.
Kai’s face went pale.
Finally, the truth spilled out.
Kai had gotten involved with the underground poker scene, lured in by the promise of fast cash. At first, he won — a few hundred, then a few thousand. It was addictive. The thrill, the money, the respect. But he didn’t know when to stop. A week before the party, he owed the organizer — a dangerous man known only as “Drake the Dealer” — over $20,000 after a massive loss.
To pay it off, Kai made a deal: he would let the poker ring use his party as a cover for a side operation. While everyone was busy partying on the rooftop, illegal bets were being placed in the back room of the same building. Kai got a $15,000 cut for letting it happen — and used the entire amount to fund his dream birthday.
But now, there was a bigger problem.
“Drake wants me in deeper,” Kai said, panicked. “He said I owe him favors. If I back out, he’ll come after me. Or you. He knows who you are.”
Anthony’s blood ran cold.
What was supposed to be a celebration turned into a nightmare. They had two choices: stay quiet and get dragged deeper into the underground, or expose the operation — and risk everything.
That night, they made a plan. One that involved recording a confession, gathering evidence, and contacting someone they hoped they could trust — Detective Mendez, the school’s resource officer with a reputation for cracking down on teen crime.
But time was running out.
The next day, Kai got a text: “You talk, you disappear. Choose wisely.”
