🏠💔 Full Story: "Anthony Tells Shayla to Leave the Apartment With Kai"
The afternoon sun was beginning to dip when Anthony pulled up to the small apartment complex where Shayla and Kai were staying. His mind was racing, filled with frustration, guilt, and an aching heaviness that had built up over weeks. Everything had changed after the DNA results. Kai wasn't his biological son—and as hard as that truth hit him, it was the deception that cut the deepest.
He climbed the narrow staircase to the second floor and stood in front of the door for a few seconds. His hand hovered before finally knocking firmly.
Shayla opened the door, her face falling the moment she saw him. She tried to read his expression—was it anger? Pain? Both?
"Anthony..." she started softly, but he cut her off.
“We need to talk. Now.” His tone was cold but steady.
She stepped aside, and he walked in, glancing around the apartment. Kai was playing in the corner with his toys, unaware of the tension.
“What’s going on?” she asked cautiously, arms folded.
Anthony didn’t sugarcoat it.
“I want you and Kai to leave this apartment by the end of the day.”
Shayla’s face turned pale. “What? Anthony, you can’t be serious. This is our home. Kai—”
“Stop,” he snapped. “You’ve lied to me about everything. I defended you, I protected you, and all this time, you were hiding the truth about who Kai’s real father is.”
Tears welled up in Shayla’s eyes. “I didn’t mean to hurt you. I was scared—scared to lose you, scared to raise Kai alone. I was wrong, but please, don’t punish Kai for my mistakes.”
Anthony looked toward Kai, who was now quietly watching them.
“I’m not trying to punish him. But I need space. I need time to heal. I can’t live under the same roof pretending everything is okay.”
“Where are we supposed to go?” she whispered.
“That’s not my responsibility anymore, Shayla.” His voice cracked. “I’ll still help financially for a while, but I’m done pretending. You broke something in me I don’t know how to fix.”
Shayla sank onto the couch, covering her face as silent sobs shook her shoulders.
Anthony turned toward the door. “Please be gone by tonight. I’ll send someone to pick up the keys.”
He looked at Kai one last time, a mix of sorrow and confusion in his eyes.
“Goodbye, little man,” he said quietly, forcing a smile before walking out the door.
As the door clicked shut, Shayla realized—this wasn’t just a breakup. It was the end of a chapter she never thought would close.
